What to Expect

Your first visit lasts about 1.5 to 2 hours, either online or in person. This time is dedicated to building a trusting, collaborative relationship—the foundation of effective care. Our focus is on understanding you as a whole person, not just a set of symptoms.

We begin by listening to your story, your challenges, and your goals. Through this comprehensive psychiatric assessment, we explore both mind and body, aiming to uncover the root causes of your struggles and create an individualized treatment plan that may integrate therapy, lifestyle strategies, nutrition, and when appropriate, medication.

At this time, we do not serve couples or people ages 65 and older due to our specialty in caring for youth and adults. If you fall into this exclusion, we can point you where you may receive psychiatric care.

After our First Meeting: What Comes Next?

Follow-Up Appointments

Following your initial comprehensive evaluation, we will schedule follow-up sessions to review your progress. During these visits, we’ll discuss:

  • How you’ve been since our last meeting

  • Which recommendations are helping, and where we may need adjustments

  • Medication management, if appropriate

  • Lab work, nutrition, or other holistic interventions

At Wellthy Psychiatry, your sessions are flexible and time-based, allowing us to tailor the experience to your needs:

  • 45- or 60-minute sessions: Provide space to integrate psychotherapy and deeper exploration of mind-body strategies.

  • 25-minute sessions: More focused visits, typically best for those who are already working with another therapist, where we primarily address medication and integrative interventions

The frequency of visits and appointments is individualized. For some, weekly sessions are most supportive, especially if receiving regular psychotherapy; for others, every 2–3 months is appropriate for long-term wellness and medication management. Together, we’ll decide what works best for your goals and life.

Communication Between Your Appointments

One of the benefits our patients appreciate most is our availability between visits. We understand that questions and concerns don’t always wait until your next session— we’re here on this journey with you and your mental health is our priority.
